October 2024 at Living Word –

October is a month where many talk about ghost, spirits and spells. People will dress up and hope to avoid tricks while they are seeking treats. Others try to frighten and scare you. Yet many fail to teach their children how to keep in step with the Spirit (Galatians 5:16-25) and to warn about the adversary that prowls seeking to devour (1Peter 5:8-10). Children have more power than they know (Psalms 8:2). Praising God, they have the power to still the enemy and avenger. There is no need to fear things of the world.

Are you uncertain about what is going on around you? You are important and loved by the One who created you with a purpose.  God is everywhere we are and deserves obedience, honor, and respect. God has done and will continue to do amazing things. This month lessons give us examples showing us that God is powerful and in control. He is faithful and just. He keeps His promises. As we study God’s Word we will see how people encountered many amazing things that He only could do.

October 6 Have you ever been in a situation where you were asked to do something far outside of your capabilities? If God asked you, would you trust Him or doubt that He would give you the resources and power to complete the task? God is faithful and just. God will do what He says. Anyone who have watched wood burn has seen it turn to ash but one man watched fire cover wood but the wood did not turn to ash. Moses and the Burning Bush. Exodus 3:1-4:17, Joshua 21:45, Isaiah 44:6, Hebrews 13:8. God promises He will be with you if you choose to be with Him.

October 13 It is hard to complete a task without having the right tools. Sometimes God called unlikely people to complete task that to man appeared to be challenging, time- consuming, and frustrating. God promised to be with these people and many times used unlikely methods to accomplish His plan. God is all-powerful and in control of all things. Gideon and the Midianites. Judges 6:11-7:22, Psalm 77:14, Isaiah 44:6 Are you uncomfortable with putting your trust in God to provide the power and resources for you to complete the task He designed you for? Pray and Praise for the great things He can do in and through you. Romans 8:28.

October 20 Sometimes obedience is more than just doing the right thing. It may require courage, humility, risk or getting out of your comfort zone. Have you ever been challenged to take a stand for your faith? God is everywhere at all times and is with His people. His people need to trust and obey. The Bible shows us that wood was not the only thing that did not burn, Three men and a fiery furnace. Daniel 3; Isaiah 44:6. Ask God to give you the courage and power to take a stand and follow the plan.

October 27 What challenges do you face? What actions can you take to stand strong even when it seems you are alone? God deserves respect, obedience, and honor. God works in miraculous ways proving He is the 1 true God.1 Kings 16:33, 17:1;18, Isaiah 44:6. How do you start a fire when the wood is to wet to burn?  Elijah on Mount Carmel. God had a bush on fire yet it did not burn then in today’s story He had fire completely consume wood that was to wet to burn.
