November 2021 at Living Word
Things are not always what they appear to be. Take time to Listen for the response – Yes, No, Wait, There Is Something Better. Can you draw out the ART in your life? God knows you have needs and desires but He wants to hear from you. Authority – God’s Word tells us about the Kingdom we have the choice to be a part of. Relationship – Jesus invites us to become part of His family. Time – Do you make time for what will be important 100’s of years from now?
People are not perfect we are all sinners but God can use us to grow His Kingdom as we grow in what we know and let His love show. The Bible teaches us Samuel followed God’s plan in choosing a king. Not the one man would have chosen. The king’s own son, Jonathan, helped David escape the wrath of King Saul and David later spared Saul and showed kindness to his family. How do you plan to share compassion, gentleness, humility, kindness, and patience with the world around you?
Nov 7 – What are the results of doing thing your own way? Do you find yourself wanting to do something besides following God’s plan? You see the visible but God views the heart. God works through people to accomplish His purpose of showing others how to know & trust Jesus as Savior. You can show God’s love by following God’s plan for you. 1 Samuel 16:1-13; Proverbs 3:5-6; Colossians 3:12. When Saul stopped following God Samuel was sent to anoint another king. The prophet’s arrival stirred fear among leaders. Samuel found that outward appearance or statue was not a consideration.
Nov 14 – The prince took the initiative. It was an unlikely friendship between the prince and the shepherd. God uses people to fulfill His plans. God calls us to connect with others and share His love. 1 Samuel 14:49; 18:1-4;20; Proverbs 17:17; Colossians 3:12 People show God’s love when they stand up for their friends. Jonathan means “Yahweh has given” David means “beloved” God has given us so much. What do you give?
Nov 21 – Why are you running? Do you want to be a winner? Running a race is one thing but being hunted and running for your life is altogether different. God values people. Even before they are born people are special to God. 1 Samuel 24: Leviticus 19:18; Colossians 3:12. People can show God’s love by respecting others. David’s enemy was handed over to him but he would not harm the one who was anointed and chosen by God years ago. We should learn to respect those who are difficult to love and show them God’s love.
Nov 28 – Do you expect others to return the favor? Are you with holding kindness or out doing one another in showing love & kindness? The way you treat others reflects the love you have for God. God teaches us to connect with others and share His Love. 2 Samuel 4:4; 9; Colossians 3:12. David calmed fears and showed kindness to Mephibosheth. Seek God’s guidance on how to handle stressful relationships. Show God’s love by sharing kindness with those around you. Be polite use good manners and say please and thank you.
