October 2019 at Living Word –
Don’t be afraid of the Spirit. Don’t run from or avoid the Spirit. Navigating through life is tough. Knowing and understanding God’s Word on our own is not easy. God provides the Holy Spirit to guide and provide when we allow.
As you have grown physically, how have you grown in your understanding of foundational truth? People may fail you. People do break promises and don’t always tell the truth. God makes awesome promises that He keeps. God is our Creator and is worthy to be praised. God has true concern and care for people. God is all powerful and is in control of all things. God is faithful and just. How do you make connections with God’s truths?
Children learn about God’s Awesome Promises. This month’s lessons will help us learn about who God is and how we should respond to Him.
Oct 6 God always keeps His promises – Genesis 6:9 – 9:17; Acts 13:32-33a. – Noah followed God’s instruction when the time was right God safely shut them in. God carried him and his family safely through and made a promise.
Oct 13 God can do things that no one else can do- Genesis 12:1-3; 15; 17:1-22; 18:1-15; 21:1-7; Acts 13:32-33 – Abraham & Sarah
Oct 20 God is always in control – Exodus19; 34:10-35; Acts 13:32-33a – Moses & the Israelites.
Oct 27 God will help people through hard times – 2 Samuel 7-8; Acts 13:32-33a – King David.
Youth learn how to find contentment in a busy life & how to know the will of God.
Oct 6 Let God’s love drive how you relate to others. – 1 Thessalonians 4:3-12 – People are created as moral beings and are responsible for their choices and the consequences of those choices & how we treat others Be driven by a love for God that carries over into how you relate to others.
Oct 13 Seek to align your will with God’s will. – Ephesians 1:4-6; Romans 11:33-12:2 – Following God’s will can be challenging, but we get the best reward by choosing to follow Him. Because God is holy. He is altogether separate from sin. He deserves our reverence and obedience.
Oct 20 God gives us direction through His word. – Psalm 19:7-14 – God communicates to us through His word. God hears and answers when we pray. Our spiritual growth and the quality of our relationship with God depends on our commitment to these disciplines of prayer and reading God’s Word.
Oct 27 The Holy Spirit will guide us in knowing God’s will – 1 Corinthians 2:6-16 – The Holy spirit inspired and guided people to write the Bible and to communicate the words of God. The Holy Spirit will help you know and understand the will of God for your life.
