April 2015 at Living Word

If you had the power to stop some one from hurting you would you use it? Jesus had the will power not to because He loved you. Jesus sacrifice is the heart of the gospel. The One who created all things including you was willing to allow death of His Son to save you. Jesus could have stopped the event. He had already showed His power to heal and to calm the wind & sea. Instead He chose to suffer for our sins. He then once again showed His power just like He did while He walked the earth as a man. This time the power was over His death. Jesus was falsely accused, bloodied, beaten, mocked, rejected, spat on, & crucified. The entire time He stood stronger than all around Him because He refused to allow the wrath of God to give us what we deserve. At His death the earth trembled with a great earth quake. The sun refused to shine. The pain and suffering He endured while on earth had ended. Yet the pain of you not being part of His family was still there. Forgiveness is available we just have to call upon Him. Make His death for you worth while.
